Hose Reel System
A hose reel is designed to provide a controlled water supply to suppress any Class A Fire – which is any type of flammable solid. If your building is still fitted with a fire hosereel, you need to make sure the hose reel itself and it's pumping system are still operational.
Fire hose reels are located to provide a reasonably accessible and controlled supply of water to combat a potential fire risk. The length of a fully extended fire hose is 36 meters with a diameter of 19mm (outside diameter). The systems consist of pumps, pipes, water supply and hose reels located strategically in a building, ensuring proper coverage of water to combat a fire. These appliances are designed to deliver, as a minimum, 0.33L of water per second. A control nozzle attached to the end of the hose enables the operator to control the direction and flow of water to the fire. All fire hose reels come with a unique ball valve shut-off device, a plastic or solid brass hose reel nozzle and mounting bracket.
WHERE WOULD YOU NEED A HOSE REEL?
Hose reels can be useful in premises where a continuous flow of water is required to extinguish a fire. They are generally found in larger buildings, such as warehouses, schools and large office blocks.
